The work was created by severely burning a wooden panel and applying red oxide pigment in a quick gestural mark which can be interpreted in many ways.
 
The ‘Dark’ and ‘Light’ contemporary abstract works were created as a pair to represent polar opposites.  These pieces are both framed under non reflecting glass with frames complementary to each piece.  The frame size is the same for both pieces.
